It is July. Summertime is in full swing plus it’s birthday week with the U S of A. It’s that time again to tell you what I’m doing right now (other than humiliating the dogs with Uncle Sam hats.)
Reading – The Matched Trilogy which is another young adult Hunger Games like series. I love that my sister in law teaches middle school and finds out about all these books that I can just fly through. I’m also starting a reading challenge on www.goodreads.com for the summer, so I should find some new and exciting books that way.
Eating – FRUIT. It’s freaking summertime. Watermelons, raspberries, strawberries, pineapples, blueberries. I love fruit when it’s hot outside.
Watching – I’m impatiently waiting for season 2 of Homeland to come out on DVD. I’m reminding myself that it’s OK to wait for HBO/Showtime shows to come out on DVD and Netflix them. I don’t have to spend the money to have those channels for the one hour a week that I would watch them. Also, I’ve been sucked back into Million Dollar Listing: NYC. I love real estate shows almost as much as I love seeing the inside of those NYC apartments.

Missing – Okoboji. We haven’t been there yet this summer and we’re looking to head that direction at the end of the month, but it feels weird to have a year in between trips. I wrote about it here.
Anticipating – some fun times in the month of July. We are going to see Dawes at First Ave, we are planning a cabin trip with our nieces, I’m going to the Package Tour to finally see NKOTB after all these years (and Boyz II Men and 98 degrees) and we are running in the Color Run (picture is from last year). I predict lots of fun times and hopefully no sunburns.
Wishing for – Summer to slow down a little bit. I was sure this summer would not fly by as quickly as those in the past because we don’t have every weekend packed full… I was wrong.
Drinking – Lots of water (or trying to at least.) Also, I finally got to try the Orange Shandy from Leinenkuegel’s. It’s not for everyone, but I loved it.
Laughing at – Arkansassy’s Doomsday 2.0 post yesterday.
Loving – this short holiday week. So many people are on vacation, which makes my life at work a little easier. Also, the 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays.
Beginning – A serious decluttering of our house. So much stuff has piled up. I’ve been talking about it for months and it’s time to get started. Tonight, I’m going to donate one bag of clothes – that’s where I’m starting.
Listening to – Happy July!!!
Also, tomorrow is Wednesday and I’m going to do my normal Insta-Gratitude post. I have gotten so many nice notes from people that want to join in. I made a button (don’t laugh, I am NOT a designer.)
Orange Shandy?! I've never even seen that! How does it compare to Summer Shandy?
i really really need summer to slow down…. why is it going so fast?!
Summer just needs to stop. Freeze. It just got here for crying out loud!
I want to try the orange shandy but I have only seen it one time! Where did you find it? Also, how are those books? I've been wanting to find something like the Hunger Games ever since reading those!
I just started watching the first season of Homeland. I'm about 5 episodes in. I love it!
Sweet button! I cannot do anything of the sort.
I wrote a 'merica post for tomorrow, maybe I'll link it up.
summer so needs to slow down!!! how is it july?
Orange Shady?! That feels a little like betraying the lemon flavored stuff, but it is citrus… you may have helped me find a new drink 🙂
Also, the whole gratitude thing? Seriously has helped my time at work. I feel better when someone yells at me over the phone and I can take a second to say "Yes, I am grateful for this full bottle of water because while I drink it, I will forget about this call."
Which is a kind of weird thing… but it helps keep me calm. So thanks for that too!
I just found your blog through another Minnesota Blogger.
Some of us are doing The Color Run, and going to the NKOTB concert.
I love the Matched trilogy. Another one to check out is The 5th Wave. Its supposed to be the next Hunger Games, but then again everything is these days.
Those books are on my to read list. I love teen fiction. I finished up the Vampire Academy series back in May and I'm half way through my good reads challenge. Good luck with your challenge.
