Happy freaking Monday ladies and gentlemen. Sometimes Monday mornings aren’t the worst thing in the world. Before you roll your eyes at my positive attitude, just hear me out.
I saw Lauren post about enjoying every day – not just the weekends – and it was such a simple thing, but I realize that I complain a lot about those poor week days and I don’t hate them. Happy hours are in my top ten favorite things – let’s be real – so is television and there aren’t any shows on the weekends. So, here I am professing my love for this Monday. Thank you Lauren for having an awesome attitude.
I am currently riding shotgun and heading to Milwaukee for another week of work in our office there. The best part is that my husband is my traveling partner this week. That means spending the evenings exploring a little bit instead of hanging in the hotel.
As we are driving, I’m noticing a few spots of color in the trees. I love fall (just like everyone else.) Salted Caramel Mochas are in the cup holder (holy sugar overload.) We are jamming out to State Radio and I’m able to write this post and get some work done while riding in the car.
We had a great weekend including a fabulous brunch with friends, some quality time with my grandma, the Firkus Fall Festival (a party that my boss throws every year), a movie date and an adventure to the Mall of America with our 3 year old niece.
The Build A Bear workshop at the Mall is one of my favorite places to take my nieces. Maddy made a bear named Cinderella for herself and she made a bear for her baby brother that will be making his appearance before the end of October. We had a blast at the Mall of America with her.
So, back to Monday, here we are. This is going to be another busy week of work things in Wisconsin, but it’s nice to be in a different office every once in a while for a change of scenery. It’s nice that I don’t have to worry about cooking for the week or doing the dishes.
So suck it up and enjoy your Monday. Treat yourself to a fancy dinner or buy yourself a new fall candle. Drink a pumpkin beer (or watermelon if you can find it.) Watch this video if you’re still having a hard time dealing with the Monday morning blues.
i'm glad it's monday today which means i day down and 12 more left to go until my tough mudder race!!

Holler! Enjoy your Monday and your holy sugar rush coffee.
That's one of my fav quotes – the be in love with your life one. It's hard to remember sometimes, but SO TRUE!
Awesome post, friend. Life truly is about embracing every moment, every day.
I can't wait to take my niece to build a bear!! Partially because I have always really wanted to go- and now I have a good excuse 🙂
Yay I love this post! Thanks for playing along. And I mean really, who doesn't love HH?
So glad your husband gets to come along and live hotel life with you this week. I guess it will be dessert in bed for two this time, right? And the Mall of America with a three year old sounds dangerous and expensive but it looks like you guys had fun. Have a great week!
I love this! I've thought about it a time or two before in the past – we're basically wishing our lives away when we hate on the weekdays. Nice little read on this dreary Monday 🙂
Thanks for the reminder to appreciate the weekdays. You're right happy hours and TV shows are amazing. I for one am looking forward to the start of a new Bones season tonight!
What a perfect reminder! I, along with everyone else, get caught up in the Monday woes.
Enjoy your Salted Caramel treats – so jealous!
I love that quote. I think a print of it is in order, as soon as no-spend September is over!
Woohoo for Milwaukee again! I just (as in, 30 minutes ago) booked (aka, bought a ferry ticket) an impromptu trip there for this weekend as well. I am heading to visit one of my best friends from grad school and I can hardly wait until Friday.
This is a really awesome thought process. THANK YOU for sharing 🙂
Ahh kid president video. Gets me every time.
My niece is 4 now, and I can't wait to take her to Build-a-Bear! 🙂
