My brain is all over the place today. I have about 75 drafts that I could complete and post, but I just can’t really focus. I have 25 bags in my driveway right now of clothing, books and small furniture items for the Lupus foundation. I have 13 emails replying to my Craigslist ad for free furniture. I’m currently trying to answer 20 questions about my car for the ad on the autotrader website.
This is my break from crazy this morning.
Let me tell you about last night. I went to the Melting Pot for my very first time (thank you Anna for the giftcard.) We were celebrating the birthday of our friend, Brian, plus trying to sneak in some time with these guys before we leave. I have never been so full. We went for the 4 course experience… and an experience it was.
Cheese, salads, vegetables for me, seafood for J and meat for everyone else. We were so full. Then, we realized that dessert hadn’t come yet. Despite our stomachs being happy & full, we polished off every last piece of dessert.
This is not something I could do all the time, but once a year for special occasions – yes, I get it. I loved it. The best picture of the night was taken by Kelsey. The dessert was served and lit on fire. She told me to look scared and this is the face I made… kind of describes my feelings all night.
So much for being productive last night. We had a very early packing morning to get things ready for the donation truck. It was worth it.
In other news, the dogs are really confused about what’s happening. Yesterday, their couches left and Quincy became pissed. He gave me this look most of the night…
Until I gave him his favorite kind of bone and then he laid down with me and watched How I Met Your Mother. Yes, we are laying on the floor because we have no furniture.
Thank you all for the well wishes. We will make it through this next week and the craziness that is life.
You've got a really full plate on your hands, literally and figuratively. I'm so jealous you went to the Melting Pot! I've been wanting to go ever since I found out about it, but I can't bear to drop that amount on food. I've got to convince N to take me now. Safe travels!
we have a melting pot here too…i just thought it was chocolate or cheese and they give you bread! LOL

Your angry dog is hilarious! I did the Melting Pot once. I don't cook so my husband had to deal with it all and he proclaimed it "too much work!" But all that cheese was my dream come true…
Dude Quincy is PISSED.
I've been to The Melting Pot once, that was enough for me!
hahah!! The look on your dogs face- hilarious.
I'm sitting here starving and seeing all that food is NOT helping 🙂 I still have such fond memories of the time I got to go to the Melting Pot. We had the full four course dinner too and you're right, you're so full but somehow you manage to pack the dessert away too 🙂
OMG, I love Quincy's look! I'm so excited for you. I know you're going through tons of emotions (or maybe not quite yet while you're dealing with the packing and moving and all that).
All I am doing is singing "And I guess that's why they call it, fondue!" (to the tune of Elton John's "I guess that's why they call it the blues!")
I need more coffee.
Poor Quincy! Good luck with everything.
Ugh. I'm living vicariously through you with your Melting Pot trip. JC refuses to go because he says "I'm not paying to cook my own food". So, I'm going to need you to go more often and blog about it 😉
