Welcome to a big, fat LOVE fest about my partner in crime. It’s almost Valentine’s Day, which doesn’t really matter to me, but I do love all the talk about love happening in the world. Oh hey bandwagon, don’t mind if I catch a ride.
I love that every relationship is different. I love being married. He is my bestest friend. So, why do we work? Here’s the first few things I think of:
Routines. I love that we have certain routines that allow each of us independence and a little alone time. Quiet weekend mornings in our household are heaven.
Challenge. We are constantly bouncing ideas off each other (especially since we work together) and it is awesome to have someone give you honest feedback because they care about you… no other agenda. Plus, there are so many things I have only tried because he was cheering me on.
Candy. There is no such thing as buying a candy bar for yourself. I always grab him Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and he always grabs me a Caramello. This goes way beyond candy. When one of us grabs a “treat yoself” gift, we grab one for the other person. It’s like Valentine’s Day every day.
Boundaries. We have the same ideas on what’s appropriate in public (for us). We aren’t public kissers. Doesn’t really bug me when other people are extra affectionate, but I’m glad I didn’t marry the guy that wants me to feed him and hold hands every minute.
Road Trips. We have the most fun when we are in the car together. We sing loud duets, play ridiculous car games and dream up all kinds of wonderful adventures.
Patience. I’m not patient. He’s always patient. He knows when to push and when to leave me be. I probably don’t tell him enough how much I appreciate that.
I think I could list another 20 things, but instead, I will sum it up with this quote which was featured on a Christmas gift from my brother & his girlfriend – they know us so well. We’re weird and it’s amazing.

This is a fun post! It's nice to be so compatible with your significant other.
Happy Valentine's Day!
I think it's fine to get a little mushy every once in a while!
Are those Jacques Torres chocolates?
adorable!!! like you, i'm SO IMPATIENT but my husband is the most patient guy in the world. he'd have to be to put up with my bullshit!

Those are some pretty awesome reasons why y'all work – and it's freaking adorable. Y'all definitely balance each other out!
Good stuff right here! But, there is over a foot of snow on the ground, you said the word Caramello, and now that's all I can think about. ggrrrr…
It's definitely a fine balance, and it seems like you both make it work! I can feel the love radiating from this post!
this is so cute. freaking adorable. i am weird and so s michael and i think that's the best way to be!
I love that quote at the end! Over here from the link up and I loved your post 🙂
Love this post. It's always nice to get an insight on why people work together. MFD and I are total opposites but we still work. He gives me balance in many areas and reminds me not to be so serious all the time.
I love that you two work together like that. I'm not super mushy in public, either, but my husband is, so it's taken me a bit to find a happy medium with him. Now it's more natural.
AWE! I love this, that card made me laugh! Having a sense of humor in a relationship is soo important! I just popped over from The Daily Tay! I have been loving reading what everyone has to say!
I love that you guys get treats for each other when you get them for yourselves. 🙂
Looks like you two are a great couple together. Happy V-Day!
Just found your blog through the link-up and am really excited that I did! Love the quote on the card — love is a pool of weirdness.
