Self love is important. You see quotes all over Pinterest land that look like the one below. Even though I spend most of my blog energy writing about myself, it’s not always easy to come up with a list of things I like about myself. When one of my new favorite bloggers posted this list for herself and then announced it would be a link up, I felt inspired to join along. Go read her original post and then make your own list.

1. I’m really good at directions. Well, I’m good at knowing where I am and how to get where I’m going… I’m not always the best at giving other people directions when they are lost – that’s what Google Maps is for. I’m a weirdo that studies maps.
2. I’m a fighter when it comes to things I believe in, but I do in ways that I feel will make the most impact. Getting into debates on social media or in bars doesn’t really benefit anyone.
3. I understand the importance of gratitude. I’m not perfect, but focusing on that for an entire year was so impactful.
4. I am the best sleeper. I’m out like a light every time I hit the pillow and can sleep through everything. I’m learning that it is a great blessing.
5. I’ve got a pretty good memory, especially when it comes to people. I’m pretty good at remembering people and things that they like/dislike, their birthdays and the details. It makes it fun to shop for people. It makes it a little awkward when I remember people and every conversation we’ve had and they don’t remember my name. It’s super cool.
6. I love that my hair and nails grow super fast… I can’t even imagine what would happen if I took those prenatal vitamins ever. Most days, I even like my hair color which makes my wallet love me.
7. I think I’m a good judge of character. I have amazing friends and the best husband in the entire world. So I’m a big fan of that.
8. I am healthy. I may not be in the best of shape, but my body allows me to get out and be active.
9. I’m a total nerd and get excited about the littlest things. My dogs amaze me every single day even though they lay around the same way they did yesterday. A postcard in the mail can make my week.
10. I’m open to try new things. I love trying new food, listening new music, visiting new places. I like to do a little research before getting too crazy, but it’s rare that I will say no.
Go write your list and make sure to share it. Brag on yourself a little bit. And if someone pays you a compliment today, own it.
Ah! I love this! I too have a really hard time coming up with a list of things I love about myself. What a fun post! And I'm not going to lie – I'm extremely jealous of your sleeping capabilities. JC's the same way and it makes me angry. Lol.
This is an awesome idea. I know we are our own worst critics, but to turn the table on it is great. Makes me like you even more!
SO now I've gone through like 5 posts on Christy's blog. I do love the idea of self love and I feel like it's something I need to work on. It's like I don't even know how to take a compliment.
Number 5 is a reallllly great quality to haveso that's awesome! And you were so good at the Weekly Gratitude – I miss it!
i love the new layout 🙂
second, this is an awesome idea. more people should focus on themselves in a positive way like this because we're our own worst critic. and trust me – being able to sleep through anything IS a blessing!

This is so great!! Complimenting yourself is such an underrated thing today, why not brag about how great you are!?
I always think it's so weird in like, a job interview when they ask you about your strengths. I'm never sure if it sounds like bragging, but this list is a good reminder to like, remember what's good about you. Cause after high school, when you don't get grades anymore, it's easy to forget that you're allowed to get recognition for the good things you do!
I love this post! So many great things– I get lost basically any time I'm driving, but when I'm walking and can use maps I have the best sense of direction ever!
I wrote the same post today! (Obviously with different items on my list… haha!) You have some great qualities listed, I love it. And I WISH I had your sense of direction… alas… I'm directionally challenged.
Ahh! I have a Toot Your Own Horn post written for next week. So important.
I am awful at directions.
Go you for focusing on all the amazing stuff! We should all do this more!
I love this list!! Such a great attitude, and self love really is important. Can be hard sometimes, but definitely necessary.
I love your list, girl! My favorite is that you get excited about the little things in life, not just the big! 🙂 I think that's the kind of attitude that can take someone very far in life! 🙂
What a fun list! I am the same about details! It is really important to me to remember details about others!
Oooohhh I am with you on being a great sleeper. It is my spiritual gift. I also wrap a mean present, can pack the hell out of a car for a roadtrip, and can pack a mean bagged lunch!
Love this idea! I am definitely going do the same. I am the same with directions so I try to make my fiancee drive so I can direct him.
I love this list, Steph! I am especially a fan of #2. Being a fighter without being overbearing in the wrong settings is such a challenge for people. Thanks for doing this link-up proud!
Great list of stuff. Might as well embrace those little things about ourselves that makes us who we are. I like #10 the most. Gotta try new things in life.
