Kid President always make me feel more awesome when I watch his videos. Whoever came up with this concept is brilliant. It got me thinking. What would you tell someone on their first day? Maybe you could write a letter to the next baby you know that will be born.
Here are some things I would share with a baby on their first day here:
Be a part of your community. Get to know your neighbors. Love your surroundings.
Pick a sports team and stick with them. They will probably let you down over and over again, but every game is a new beginning. Someday when they win big, you’ll experience a happiness that you won’t find anywhere else.
Eat your vegetables every day. Also, enjoy desserts.
There is no such thing as too many coffee mugs or good pajamas.
Smile at people even if you don’t feel like smiling.
Never turn down a vacation, especially a road trip. Those are the best kinds of vacations because you’ll see places you would have never visited.
Be a little colorful.
Dream big and don’t be afraid to share your dreams. Someone you know might help them come true.
Read books.
Say thank you for everything you are grateful for – big or small.
Go to college when you’re ready. It’s a lot of money to spend just to skip class and eat easy mac.
Write letters to people as much as you can. Mail is the best.
Try new things – especially food, outdoor activities and creative outlets.
Get a pet at some point in life.
Love yourself and celebrate the awesome things you do even if it’s just with a dance party. Self love will make you a better person.
What would you share?
Kid President is way too adorable! Love your list & spring is definitely MIA!
I love this, Steph! All great tips, and currently, my brain is a lump of Monday mush so I can't think of anything to add.
Sorry about the coffee…
This letter and concept kills it. I'd share:
All days end, good ones but bad ones too.
Be what you want, but always be you.
Read whenever you can.
You won't be perfect, but neither will anyone else – your imperfections are what make you you.
Every mistake you make will lead you to where you are. No regrets.
This is a brilliant post. I love it!
I agree completely with "get a pet" – imagine how much more love would be in the world if everyone knew the joy of loving an animal!
i love this!
i would add:
love yourself, otherwise you wont let anyone else love you.
others will treat you the way you let them treat you
treat others how you would like to be treated
when life deals you a crappy had, it doesn't have to stay crappy forever
i love this post!

Vodka and Soda
How sweet! I love this video and I love your take on it 🙂
Ahhh the Keurig without the mug underneath, the worst!
Yes, yes, yes! These are all perfect! I told my nieces and nephew not too long ago: "It's okay if you don't win, as long as you try your best."
