Nothing says Welcome to Adulthood like writing the government a big, fat check for taxes.
I think about “adulthood” a lot as I near my 29th birthday. I joked yesterday about feeling like an 80 year old woman because I love going to the Botanical Gardens, but maybe that is something that makes me more “adult.”
I started making a list of things that make me feel like an “adult”:
I enjoy getting up in time to see the sunrise.
Stretching is required almost every day.
Hangovers exist and they are the WORST.
I have to work even harder to stay in shape.
I feel like a party animal if I make it to midnight.
Savings accounts are a real thing.
Excitement happens with new appliances, organized closets and “getting a great deal.”
Comfortable clothes and shoes win… ALWAYS.
Bad manners and bad grammar annoy me.
I have regular conversations about the weather and gas prices.
And then this Buzzfeed article.
In good news, there are a whole lot of things I do that show that I’m still young at heart. I love mac & cheese, cheap champagne and cartoons. I have hot pink pajama pants. I watch trashy television (read BRAVO.) I love taking shots of fireball.
I guess I don’t have one foot in the grave yet. Cheers to tax day!
But seriously, we are meant to be best friends forever. I couldn't agree with this post more.
This post is all too true! I was never a huge person to stay out all night, but the older I get the more I just want to stay in more often than not!
I love this post and all of these things! Sometimes I really feel like such an adult too, but that's not always a bad thing. We are young at heart in the same ways and I love that!
comfy clothes ALL THE WAY!! aint nobody got time for fanciness and discomfort.

Vodka and Soda
haha…this post is too perfect as I'm sitting here complaining to Doug that my back hurts and he's complaining that his knees hurt. There are some things about getting old that are pretty awesome (savings accounts and great deals definitely top that list)…though definitely NOT the hangovers and aching bodies!
hahah I am right there with you! Totally hovering between the adult life and the college life in Friday night I could be wayy to many fireballs deep and Saturday I am grocery shopping, at home goods, and asleep by 10!
I only drink a few times a year to the point of getting a hangover because they last so much longer now and are so much worse! haha
Amen to working harder to get fit. AMEN.
Effing taxes.
My knees are telling me I'm a BIG ADULT this week.
Ughhhh I just wrote that check the other day to the government…..and it hurt!
I dunno. I stay pretty ignorant to some of these things. Mainly the hangover part. 🙂
Ugh, hangovers now last 2-3 days. The worst
I'm finding that I like fireball too!
Amen to working out harder to be in sort-of-shape! HA! And hangovers….ewww!!!
I really should stretch everyday! I feel like I would be so much more comfortable in the office if I did that. haha
Comfy clothes for the win 100%!
I wore heels the other day and couldn't wait to change back into my toms. Comfortable shoes for the win! Great post 🙂
