I am a people watcher. I am so amazed at some of the things that humans are capable of. There are a few talents that just blow my mind and constantly have me wondering “How do you do that?”
Experts on wine. I’ve taken wine classes with my mom before and I have no idea how the people next to me are able to accurately guess the region each wine is from. Have you really memorized them? It amazes me.

Raw foodies. I read that book and got horrified when it started talking about sprouting my own beans. I’m all for eating healthier and cleaner, but I draw the line at sprouting. How do you have a job, friends and eat raw? Also, cheese. I have to eat cheese every day. Looks like I won’t be a vegan either.
Moms. Just hearing about my sister in law’s day yesterday wore me out. Doctor’s appointments, visiting the Easter Bunny, conferences, plus doing her normal daily things. It’s amazing how much time they seem to have in their day to get these things done. I consider it a win if I feed myself, Justin & the dogs all the meals in one day without ordering from GrubHub.
But my nieces are pretty cute 🙂 |
Artistic people. I have always said that I’m not creative, but that isn’t true, I just have no artistic talent. My husband is such a talented artist and I can’t ever win at a game of Pictionary. I would love to be able to design fancy websites, have my creations up on Etsy and decorate my apartment to look like a Pinterest dream, but that part of my brain just doesn’t work like I want it to.
Non TV watchers. I will never understand this. I love to read, but I also love to watch TV. What do you do with yourself when you’re hungover sick? Don’t you wonder about who Walter White is or how everyone knows to clap at the same time during I’ll Be There For You.
Exercise addicts. The struggle is real. I just don’t want to do it most days, but when I force myself too, I’m so happy. Why doesn’t my brain recognize that feeling and make me want to work out? I will say that the #1800minutechallenge is helping and I have been getting in an average of 30 minutes per day, but it’s a fight. Also, why am I the only one at the gym with a bright red face and a towel because my face is sweating so much? How do you look like that and you’re running faster than me?
Fashionistas. Yes, I feel wrong even typing that word out. HOW BIG IS YOUR CLOSET? Just kidding, if my closet was bigger, I’d just buy more sweaters and yoga pants. But really, do some of you just go to the store and take pictures in their dressing rooms, because if I tried to purchase half of the things you wear, I’d be broke and a hoarder. This leads me to my next point…
Walking in heels like it’s easy. Ummm… it’s not easy and it’s not comfortable, so I just won’t do it. I’m still amazed when I watch other people do it.

Justin Timberlake. How can one person be so talented? Mind = blown.
If you have all the secrets, please fill me in. If you are one of the people above, just know that I am incredibly impressed by the things that you do every day.
HEELS!! I will never understand. Ever. Because I try so hard and do all the tips and tricks that supposedly make heels comfortable, but that's just a big fat lie because heels will never ever be comfortable.
LOL – I think we are the same person. I can't even draw a circle nicely, I sprain my ankle once a month in heels, and I could cry thinking about going the gym. I'm also 25 and have to constantly ask if my outfit matches
I definitely don't understand how people don't watch TV- its such a distraction. And exercise and fashion are two major weaknesses for me!
I agree with all of these! but non-tv watchers make me cock my head to side like a dog does when you talk to it. How do they not do it? How??
Ugh, yea…I can't tell you where a wine is from, either. I guess this means I just need to drink more? Strictly, for research 😉
I can't help with any of these.
I've loved reading this link-up! I'm with you on the wine one! I was going to say I could do without TV and probably be okay– but you're right when you're sick or want to have a REALLY lazy day, there's nothing better than just watching some of your favorite shows!
I agree with every single one of these. My 2 roommates from college were graphic design majors, and I had total artistic envy. I can't draw a straight line with a ruler.
If someone asks me where a bottle of wine we have is from, I say the liquor store.
I can't with heels. I try. I try so hard. But if my feet hurt, I am fucking miserable.
Um. Are we twins? I most definitely have a red face at the gym and sweat like a crazy person – my face is usually red for a good hour after I'm done workout. Maybe one day we'll be red faced together! Ha.
Also, I like that you pointed out the differences between being creative and artistic. I always say I'm not creative, but I think I'm just in the same boat you are. One time I had to draw a scene from a book – I made the animals stick figures and my teacher told me I had to do it again because that didn't qualify as drawing…..
Your nieces are super adorable! 3 girls — that's a handful!!! I don't understand how people can just shop shop shop and post it to instagram post it to instagram post it to instagram. Ugh. Kinda sickening.
Oh my goodness YOUR nieces are adorable!!!! Idk how moms do it either though!!!!
I agree 100% with this whole list. But heels more than anything! I thought I had heel walking down in high school when a guy friend pointed out that our mutual girl friend walked so well in her heels compared to me "who looked like I needed to just sit down". So much embarrassment…
haha i love that we're both confused by wine/sommeliers ha. and i used to be good at walking in heels for awhile but it's gone downhill lately. thanks for linking up 🙂
I'm really artistic and creative, and it's just like….I don't know where it comes from, but if you put a whole bunch of supplies in front of me, I can figure out something to do with them. But I can't do math so it's a total trade-off 🙂
People who make walking in heels look effortless BLOW MY MIND. Also, I wish I knew wine better. Every time I've tried to learn about wine I get too tipsy to pay attention and it all ends up tasting the same… so I'm fairly certain I'm doing it wrong!
