I touched a little on my obsessions with vacation posts last week. Lately, I’ve been seeing quite a few of them and it gets me so excited to plan our next vacation. We had friends in town yesterday and getting to hang out with them while they explored NYC and hear about their DC adventures just got me so excited.
If you’ve seen the surrounding areas section of our New York City Bucket List, then you know that we have quite a few places near here that we want to explore. I’ve also talked about a possible Iceland trip later this year. It’s getting near the time where we actually need to start financially planning for vacations and I can hardly contain my excitement.
So I’m curious, what are your plans for this summer? Are you taking any vacations? What tools do you use to plan your adventures? Share all your secrets with me.
Also, I’d like to introduce you all to Tinisha who blogs at The Reality Insider. She is working on her own 30 Before 30 List which are my personal favorites to read. I think a good list is a
great way to get a quick glimpse of someone. She started her blog to write about her daily life, share her thoughts & ideas with other bloggers and hopefully inspire & educate a few people along the way. She loves when readers share their thoughts & opinions with her. She is also launching an advice column soon. Go say hi!
You have friends in DC?! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!
I'm counting down the days until our Summer vacation starts in Florida. T-minus 20, if you cared 😉
we have a big orlando/disney trip coming up in the fall (it's way too hot to travel to florida in the summer months) a few small mini-weekends away scattered throughout the summer. i'm also going to miami in 2wks!! waaaaahoooo!!!!

I would just like to say that I'm from TN and I'm hoping to not only go to Dollywood but also go to Florida too. People from Nashville really seem to love going to Panama City Beach and Destin.
An advice column? I'm intrigued.
Four day girls' weekend in Ocean City, NJ at the end of May; Four day Salem, MA trip for my BFF's wedding at the end of June; Bruno Mars concert in Hershey, PA in July; three or four days with my parents at the shore in August. Our week long vacation doesn't come until December this yeaer.
"Go to the lake" haha, so true! One of my dreams is to own a lake house someday!
No vacations planned, just long weekends to see concerts!
Oh, I love 30 by 30 lists as well! Definitely will check out Tinisha's blog next! I love the maps you posted– the second one is so interesting!
i love love love travelling, and travel posts! also love 30 before 30 lists – win win! off to read yours now..
skyscanner.net! Best flight website out there 🙂 I will be so jealous if you go to Iceland – its totally on my bucket list, but I know there are more places I should go to first. I'm hoping for a trip to Florida sometime this summer!
I'd say that first map is prettttty accurate, haha!
Do you read the blog Unlocking Kiki? It's by an American girl living in Iceland and she's pretty awesome… sooooo if you don't, you should check it out! http://unlockingkiki.com/
I'm with Amanda, that first map pretty much sums it up. Our vacations are trips home, but I'm hoping we'll make it down to Galveston or Corpus Christi to explore Texas beaches. D.C. is amazing, though. I'd love to visit there again!
Well you know I already took my big 2 trips this year, BUT we hope to do a couple more weekend-y things possibly with my family and then maybe this fall. We're trying to find a chance to get to Chicago 🙂 I pretty much obsess over planning trips, there is just SO much I want to see! We're going to try to do better about doing more things in Cincy too!
We don't have anything planned yet, but thinking of taking a trip to New England in the early fall. We went to Boston 2 years ago, but we really want to explore Vermont and Maine. Also want to make it back out to San Fran, a good friend from college moved out there. That first map is hysterical…. So true!
Why does it not surprise me that Stone Mountain Park is listed as the most popular GA attraction? I feel like it's really hyped up and when people get there they're like, "this is it?" Yeah, you can climb a mountain and watch some lasers and listen to a bunch of rednecks sing along. Anyway, we're going to be typical and go to Florida, because it is the easiest way to go to the BEACH! 😀
San Antonio as we have family there – love Texas! Florisa as my parents are there but only in the Fall as we always do Disney parks and the weather is great. DC and Baltimore this year as we now have family there too.
