July is here. Summer is FLYING by. I think I say that every month except January. That month always seems slow. Anyone else have one slow month every year? Embrace it.
Anyways, here is a monthly dose of what I’m up to currently.
Reading The Rosie Effect. I started just last night and I’m 100 pages deep. I loved the first one and I love this one just as much so far. My to-read list on Goodreads has grown so much lately from all these book posts and I love it. Are we friends yet on Goodreads?
Drinking Soul Ride IPA. It’s a local beer from Indianapolis and since that’s where I am this week, I figured I would dive into the local craft beer scene. It’s fantastic if you were wondering.
Counting down to the wedding shower I’m hosting for my soon-to-be sister in law. She is one of my favorite people and I’m so happy she will be my sister in less than 2 months. Growing up without sisters means you don’t really know what you’re missing. If you’re lucky like me, you end up with 3 sister in laws that you love and adore and can’t get enough of.
Thankful for summer nights. Whether it’s a quiet night with a book and glass of wine or a night with friends on a patio eating Thai food and laughing loudly, these nights are magical and I can’t get enough.
Happy that there was finally something on the news to smile about. We missed pride weekend in NYC because of our work travels this week and rural Ohio didn’t have much to offer in the parade department, but there was champagne to celebrate a big milestone. Lots more work to do, but you have to recognize each victory. Cheers to love!
Glued to all the coverage of the escaped prisoners from Northern NY. I know the hunt is over, but I feel like there is so much more to this story. In college, I took lots of criminology classes and learned a little about our prison system. It’s very interesting to hear different perspectives.
Listening to the Decemberists a lot lately. Also, my new favorite song is this one:
Excited for a week in Montana with some of our favorite people. We have only been in the middle of winter, so a summer trip will be a whole new adventure. We are so lucky and grateful that our friend, Brian, has a family home outside of Big Sky. I can barely contain my excitement. I’m smiling ear to ear just writing about it.
I don’t think there will be snow on the ground this time. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK.
Dreaming for a little extra time to update my blog pages and put together a little midsummer giveaway for all y’all. If you’re interested in participating, email me steph@insertclassyhere.com before 7/15. Hope you’re staying cool and calm and happy.
Cheers to love indeed!
Usually February is my slow month. Football season is over (because we didn't go to the Super Bowl, wah!) and I can just breathe and enjoy the downtime before things pick up again. YAY for sister-in-laws and showers and celebrations 🙂 It's so awesome getting married and gaining siblings!
You always seem to be in my neck of the woods! Enjoy that Indy craft beer – it's definitely big around here. A summer trip to Montana sounds amazing!
Your trip to Montana sounds fun! Have a great time. It's insanely beautiful there during the summer. I love the song rec you gave – totally up my alley.
Snow or not, that is some view! The Rosie series sounds like a good one, I'll add them to my list 🙂
I need to check out that beer. Hope you hd a great July 4th!
I love that beer label!! Summer always seem to fly by for me, and I'm always saying time is flying summer or not (I think it is a getting old thing). Hope you have a wonderful trip and make the most of your July!
