I’m supposed to be writing 2,000 words for NaNoWriNo, but I’m not ready for that quite yet. I’m enjoying a little peace and quiet before getting focused. Plus, I have a lot of things swirling in my head that are not related to this creative writing I’m doing. So, I’m going to share some of my Monday evening thoughts.
We have been having the most beautiful foggy mornings on the Hudson lately. It’s nice to take a few extra minutes with the pups outside in the morning to enjoy it. We have had amazing weather the last few weeks and I’m determined to enjoy every minute. It gets dark before I’m done working now, so some mornings I linger a little bit longer. Before we know it, the snow will have arrived.
I was pulling some of the last of my favorite Iceland posts together for one last post (plus we have some awesome video to share) when I saw the Justin Bieber just put out his video that he shot in Iceland. I go back and forth with this kid, because I’m fairly indifferent (and sometimes enjoy his songs.) I’m annoyed by this video though because I can’t imagine him in Iceland being peaceful, respectful and in awe like people should be. He’s swimming in his undies in a glacial lagoon instead. Iceland was such a magical and wonderful place and I just don’t want too many Beliebers stripping down to their skivvies at Jokulsarlon. I’m sharing it because I know some people might google it and I’m making their lives a little easier.
We had friends in town this weekend and we had so much fun. It’s awesome to have friends from Minnesota come and hang with us even if it’s just for a few nights. We love so many things about living here and it’s fun to share some of our favorites with people. Also, I never complain when we find a new crepe place (check out the Shade Bar on Sullivan if you’re in the city.)
I ate a ton of vegetables today and my body feels better. I hate when that happens. Why isn’t pizza a vegetable?
The tree went up in Rockefeller Plaza. Even though it isn’t lit up yet, just knowing that it’s there makes me happy. Also, I’m cruising on my Christmas shopping so it can be all packaged and mailed out with no last minute craziness this year. My stress levels are going to be so happy.
I want to do a Christmas card this year, but I feel like they are a dying thing and each year we get fewer and fewer. Thoughts? Are you doing a holiday card?
I took a two week break from my FitBit to focus on some stretching and yoga and less about getting my steps in, but I’m back starting today. They announced a FitForGood challenge where your steps until Nov 20 can help raise money for charity. If you have a fitbit, sign up here and also connect with me to help me stay motivated.
I bought Lola the cutest buffalo plaid fleece jacket at Target today for $3 and I’m fighting the urge to make her wear it around the apartment tonight with my matching vest. I don’t care if that makes me a little crazy.
I feel a little better now that I’ve word vomited on the blog. Now, I’m going to go catch up on a few magazines and avoid my blank screen for a while longer. Maybe I’ll get some inspiration on the pages of Glamour’s Women of the Year issue. Peace out.
The JB video is all over the Icelandic media right now. I don't really know what I think of it but I do love some of hte shots of the pretty south coast:) I bet Christmas in the city is so beautiful!
You guys should definitely do a Christmas card! We started doing them last year and I hope we never stop!! Groupon has a good deal right now $17.99 for 40 cards!
I need to see Lola in her Buffalo Plaid. Now Lola & I can be twinsies!
I feel the same way about Christmas Cards, I want to send one out but I get very few and I don't want people to think they have to send us one because we send one out lol.
My Christmas cards arrived yesterday. I like doing them and I send them because I like to.
Bieber ruins something else. LOL
Your opening photo is phenomenal.
I'm with you-why isn't pizza a vegetable?
