We went to Lincoln Center and saw the Nutcracker Ballet.
The ballet isn’t really my thing, but as a kid, I remember seeing the Nutcracker and loving it with my grandma. Justin had never seen it, so I thought it would be amazing to go to the New York Ballet.
The Sunday evening show is at 5:00 PM and the weather was so warm that we were able to enjoy a glass of rose outside on their balcony.
What we weren’t prepared for was not being able to bring our wine into the theater. I don’t know why we assumed that we’d be able to, but we also didn’t want to chug it or throw it away. So, the classy people we are, we hid our glasses behind a table on the 4th floor and enjoyed them again during intermission. #noshame
We left the theater and walked around a little before deciding to end our date with a giant slice for $2.50. Nothing like eating pizza in your Sunday best.
I do want to say that if you are headed to the ballet this season, please leave your jeans and tennis shoes at home. It’s fun to dress up and this is the perfect occasion. Even if you hide your wine behind tables, at least you’ll look like you belong there 🙂
Excited to be linking up with Katie Elizabeth for all things Christmas. Join the party!
I loved the experience of seeing the NYCB Nutcracker!! I cracked up at the idea of you trying to hide your wine!! That's hilarious and awesome!!
What a fabulous date of Christmas. I love the Nutcracker, so magical and gorgeous and I LOVE that y'all hid your wine, too funny! Thanks for linking up today!
I just laughed out loud in my silent office at your two hiding your wine to enjoy it later. Now that's adulting done right!
It is so weird to see my fellow east coasters outside in December with no coats. Bizarre!
It sounds like a fun day – LOLOL @ you guys hiding your glasses. I love it.
I love seeing the Nutcracker! What a wonderful date night.
Sounds amazing. I have never been to NYC, and I really would love the experience of just dressing up and seeing a play!!
I saw the Nutcracker when I was young and would love to see it again. It is so fun to get all dressed up! I love that in Iceland people get dressed up for basically everything, but it is fun to get to experiment with your clothes.
Bahahaha. Just when I didn't think I could love you any more, you went and hid your wine behind a table. SOLID THINKING!
Love this! We saw the Nutcracker ballet in Florida when I was growing up, but I'd love to see it again. And you guys are my heroes for hiding your drinks, ha!
aw we loved the nutcracker! we saw it last year. the ballet is not really our thing either, but it sounded like something christmassy / nyc-y so thats why i booked it. we ended up liking that more than the broadway show we saw (well, i liked the show, KC didn't). hilarious about the wine! for a second i was like wait, you guys bought wine from home to the theater? i was so confused. i love this 12 dates of christmas.
