We finished up our 12 dates of Christmas. We watched Elf and Christmas Vacation. We enjoyed a game night with Christmas music blaring. We handed out gift cards to random people on the street to help spread Christmas cheer.
I did a horrible job of taking more photos. I was too excited for my mom to come to town. She landed on Christmas Day and we wore pajamas, watched movies, drank mimosas and relaxed. We hit the city on Saturday and Sunday and did lots of walking, snacking, cocktailing, etc. I took lots of photos of my mom taking photos which always makes me laugh.
Holidays can be tough when you are getting used to new traditions away from your families. This is our third Christmas away from Minnesota. We were lucky enough to have my mom come and visit, but we were missing the kids, grandma and the big, loud Christmas meals. Maybe next year, we will have a white Christmas in Minnesota with the family… or maybe we need to be on a beach. Only time will tell.
I’m excited to do a little 2015 reflection the next few days before heading upstate for a relaxing New Year’s weekend. Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas.
Sounds like a wonderful Christmas! I've never spent one away from home so I can imagine it'd be tough. Hopefully next year you'll be able to be back!
I hope you had a great time with your mom!
i vote for beach next year 😉 haha. i'm glad you had a good time and that your mom was able to visit. and thats so nice you gave gift cards out to random people! love it.
We're also re-evaluating where we'll spend next Christmas. We might go to the shore for the weekend and say sorry family, we'll see you next week.
