Happy Friday. I am so grateful for short weeks. These last 4 days have seemed insanely long during the work hours and I’m excited to have a weekend rolling back around again. Here are a few things I wanted to share.
1. Today is National Doughnut Day. Prepare yourselves for an entire day of perfectly staged Instagram photos with colorful backgrounds. I’m refusing to celebrate today because I believe this day should happen whenever you want it to.
2. I’m super excited to make a quick trip back to Minnesota for a wedding this weekend. It’s also my second time using Rent the Runway. I got a little too cocky on the sizes this time around and I’m hoping that the dress will zip up tomorrow.
3. I’m behind on my goal of 40 books this year, so I’m focusing on finding more time to read books by trying a few of these ideas from The Every Girl. I don’t usually read before bed, but I love weekend mornings and a quiet hour after work each day to dive into a book.
4. The Head and the Heart finally has new music. It’s just one song, but it’s always a good day when one of our favorites put new things into the world.
5. We finally started watching Game of Thrones. We still have the old school Netflix account that sends DVD’s via the mail and that’s how we are going to watch it. It’s healthy because we can only watch 2-3 episodes per session. I didn’t think I’d like this show at all, but I realized I was wrong.
Now I’m off to pour a giant coffee and get after this work day. Tonight, we will be indulging in a few more GOT episodes so I’m hoping the hours fly by today. Enjoy your doughnuts.
Yessssss. I have listened to the new The Head and the Heart song multiple times this morning!! I was so excited!
I've not been interested in GoT. I wonder if I'd like it.
Have a lovely whirlwind wedding weekend back in MN!
I ate a donut today because it was free. LOL
I was so sad that no one in my office brought in donuts today to celebrate. I mean, I guess I could have…
For me, I love reading during my lunch break at work. I usually eat lunch at my desk but then head out to my car or some of the picnic tables on campus to enjoy a screen free hour of reading.
oh wow i remember the old school version of netflix.. or we had something similar at home that would send you dvds, i don't think it was called netflix (we only just got netflix if i recall.. my mum calls it netflicks hahaha). i will have to check out that post about finding more time to read. i read a bunch, but it's more like binge reading, not like a little bit here and there, which i miss. good luck with rent the runway! i have been cocky or just plain wrong with sizes before and they've sent me another one 🙂 i am also not participating in national share a picture of a doughnut on instagram day. hahaha. if someone brings me doughnuts, i will eat them though, regardless of the day. have a good weekend!
Love it, refusing to celebrate national donut day because that truly should be every day! I'm with you on Game of Thrones, don't think I'll like it, but I keep hearing more and more folks say they were pleasantly surprised. Have a great weekend!
