Remember that awesome midweek ski trip we planned? Well, we got to the Green Mountains last Wednesday and it was 70 degrees. That’s not ideal for snow. See? They are way more green and brown than white.
The first day, I was battling a cold, but we ventured out to do non skiing VT things. We visited the town of Woodstock and no trip is complete without a stop at the Vermont Flannel Company. Justin and I definitely picked out next year’s Christmas card outfit – WAY ahead of the game this year.
We stopped at Long Trail Brewery on our way back to the house and enjoyed a flight. My favorite was the Stand Out American Ale. I love this brewery. This is our second time there and the people that work there are so friendly and they have a pretty big variety of beer.
That cold that I was getting early last week turned into a full blown punch in the face. I ended up not skiing and laying in bed medicated all day while the rest of the group hit the icy slopes. It wouldn’t have been conditions that I loved, but I still would have rather been outside playing. Can’t dwell on it though. These temperature swings have not been good for my body, but they are worse for the earth so I can’t complain about me.
I finally finished my giant blanket that I’ve been knitting since December. It’s the most amazing and giant thing ever and the dogs can’t get enough of it. Too bad it’s not going to be cold enough to use it for very long.
This guy. I just think he’s pretty fantastic. I think I was playing around with a photo app that blurs the background and that’s why this picture was in my last ten. I took it a few weeks ago when we were Sunday strolling around Bushwick.
Beautycounter had a HUGE new product release this week. They introduced three different face kits that you can buy in smaller bottles to try out or get the full size as a pack or individually. I’m so excited to try them. You can see them all by clicking here. Also, I’ve added a Beautycounter link on the right side of the page if you want to learn more about the products or join the newsletter I send out monthly.
Yep, another picture of Lola curled up in the blanket. We have a continuous running score of Scrabble and the first person to reach 100,000 points wins. I’m currently beating Justin by 97 after 12 games. We recently purchased a legit Scrabble dictionary after getting into an argument over “za.” As much as I love pizza, I didn’t think that should be a word – but it is.
Yesterday was International Women’s Day. I worked, but I also definitely took the time to appreciate as many of the badass women in my life that I could. I donated to Planned Parenthood, reached out to more of our government officials and rocked my red flannel all day while not spending a single dollar anywhere. Every day should be a day where we recognize amazing accomplishments, help raise people up, support businesses that give a shit and tell our representatives in government how we feel.
These are the flowers that J brought home yesterday. Spring is coming. I ordered some furniture and plant holders for our tiny little balcony and I’ve had the windows open a few times this week already. As horrible as these temperature swings are, I am really excited for spring in New York City. It’s just absolutely beautiful.
What have you been up to lately? Do you think “za” should be allowed as a Scrabble word?
that was us last year; we had to board down man-made snow and it was weird; definitely a different texture.
lola cuddled up in blankets is so cute.
WE HAD THE SAME FIGHT OVER ZA!!
