I’m back! It has been a minute or a few. I’ve missed the routine of writing. I love typing my own thoughts instead of work emails even if I never hit publish on anything.

It took a rainy evening when Justin was at a poker game, but I’ve decided to put a little more love into this blog. It looks a little different and there might be a few things broken, but I’ve successfully switched to WordPress. It is wonderful having something new to play around with.

froze and flamingos

In the last month, we have done lots of fun stuff around our crazy work schedule.

  • We planted our window boxes and continued talking to our herb garden. The cilantro is dead, but the others are still doing OK. I’m terrified to transplant them to the window boxes, so I’ve been watching the weather for weeks.
  • I’ve tried and failed at making my own froze (is that how I spell it?) multiple times.
  • Red Rocks can be checked off my life bucket list. We saw a show there on birthday week thanks to some awesome friends. I will just want to return time and time again. I don’t know that a venue will compare to that.
  • We enjoyed a pre-Memorial Day weekend in Okoboji, Iowa. I love when it’s not busy there. We tried a new brewery, watched the recaps of the Royal wedding and spent some time with Justin’s family.
  • Babies, babies, and more babies. Our friends are having babies, I’m planning my sister-in-law’s baby shower and I’m just over here getting excited about a local brewery having 20 goats in their parking lot to play with.
  • I turned 33.

And because I’m a sucker for routines, I’m still going to share some other meaningless things that have been part of my life. Currently, I’m…

Reading Homegoing. It’s our current bookclub book and it’s fantastic. I also grabbed The Lying Game from the library this weekend to switch it up a little bit and that has been a super quick read.

Working on this blog now that I’m a big kid blogger. I always thought that it would be so much work to transition, but I want to add this skill set to my repertoire and it turned out to be so easy.

Excited for a Minnesota summer. The weather on Sunday was record book amazing. Mid-70’s and sunny with a slight breeze. We biked all over the cities, took our nephew to the zoo and had every window open.

Watching Queer Eye on Netflix. We watched all 8 episodes in a week’s time which is impressive because we don’t watch TV that much. It is wonderful.

Listening to Kacey Musgraves. I’m not a huge country music fan, but I love some of it. She’s my favorite.

Battling Lola every day on her anti-seizure medications. She has to take a dose in the AM and PM. We have tried pill pockets, peanut butter, crushed up in her food. Everything works a few times and then she catches on and won’t be tricked. Eventually we are going to run out of options, so if anyone has any tricks – please send them my way.

Stocking up onĀ this new Beautycounter sunscreen. I love the spray because it makes life easy. I used to miss some spots, but this new spray goes on white and then turns clear. Brilliant.

Eating lots of Trader Joe’s frozen meals. It’s not something I’m proud of, but we stocked up on some favorites this weekend and they are easy and fast after a long day at work. It’s a work in progress.

Hopefully people are still reading this and if you are, thanks for being patient with the change and any links that I might have broken in the process.
