4th of July has already come and gone. Things are just super weird in our world and we are trying to figure out a new normal, but it sucks. We tried to stay out of our house as much as possible and then we fell over exhausted. Now we are trying to find somewhere in the middle – it’s all about balance.
So, I’m back to my routine of sharing the simple things happening in life right now.
Eating Blue Apron meals again. They have had some amazing weeks in a row. Tonight, we ate fig and sweet peppers on a grilled cheese with a peach cucumber salad. It was amazing.
Laughing about our Murder Mystery game last weekend. It was a welcome distraction from the sadness in this house. It’s a box that comes with all the instructions and materials to put on a murder mystery. You act out your characters (and dress up as much in character as you want.) Here is the one we played. It definitely takes the right group of people that will get into it, but it was a blast.
Wearing these amazing leggings. I have worn them to a gym, around my house, running errands. I would just live in them if that wasn’t disgusting. They feel like butter.
Happy that the day of fireworks until 3 AM is over and that Scott Pruitt is done. It’s not much, but it’s something.
Watching Wild, Wild Country finally. During all the BBQ’s this last week, I’ve got about 75 more recommendations for shows to watch. I think we only watch 30 minutes of TV on average each day, so it’s hard to keep up. How do people have time to do all this?
Attempting to build a new habit of exercise. 30 days is what it takes to build a new habit, but the problem is, I say that to myself every 3 days after I’ve been too tired to make time. I’m not giving up, but any tips you have would be appreciated.
Missing our NYC family. It’s weird to not have a trip planned to visit my favorite city. I’m already dreaming of the fall colors in Central Park.
How are things going for you lately? Any happy news to share? I could use a little so send it my way.
