We just returned from a week in Mexico. If you follow me on Instagram, you know the trip was extended a little by surprise, but I’ll get into that a little more later. Today, I want to do my usual recap of the details before they escape my brain.
I heard…
Waves crashing from our open door while sleeping, 90’s songs that we played on our patio, sea lions barking, cars on the gravel road, dogs barking on the beach, lots of Spanish I actually understood after months of practicing.
I smelled…
Sunscreen, tequila, spices, rubber from the wet suits, raw fish being fed to the sea lion in the marina, witch hazel & lavender from this life saving mist, fresh fruit juice, Baja Beans coffee.
I saw…
Crystal clear blue water, whales jumping in the ocean, cactus covered mountains, colorful shops, surfers of all levels, sunsets over the ocean, sunrises over the mountains, endless dirt roads and places to explore.
I ate…
Fish tacos from everywhere, amazing farm-to-table tapas, homemade spicy Cheetos (I’ll explain later), the best acai bowl I’ve ever had, star fruit, coconut shrimp, fried avocado tacos… pretty much just all the tacos.
I felt…
Salt water wash over my feet, hot sun on a midday hike, cool air at night, the prickly cactus that I ran into when I wasn’t paying attention, the annoying feeling of a sun burn on the part of my neck I forgot to reapply on, pure joy.
I just pulled all the photos off the camera last night and I’m so excited to share more of this amazing place. Mexico exceeded all my expectations and I can’t wait to return. Have you ever been to Baja California Sur??
