I did not watch the SOTU last night because I didn’t feel like listening to it. However, I used to do one of these posts each year (here is version 2017 and version 2016) and I thought it would be a good way to check in, plus I like to look back on the old ones and see what I thought would be happening in my life.

In the last 12 months:

I got a promotion at work.

I became an aunt for the 6th time.

I cried a lot about losing our dogs.

I hit my reading goals, but pretty much gave up on blogging.

I got one new stamp on my passport.

I celebrated being a wife for a whole decade.

I enjoyed having friends come and visit us in Minnesota and getting to show them our home and the things we love about it.

I went to a concert at Red Rocks.

I have held more babies than I ever thought I would in my entire lifetime.

I had the best girl’s weekend in Austin, Texas.

I gained some winter weight… and then kept it through the spring, summer and fall to this winter.

I got more educated and involved in politics with this midterm.

Going Forward:

In the next few minutes, I’m going to refill my coffee and check the snow forecast.

In the next few days, I’m going to finish sorting through all of our stuff and donating things.

In the next few weeks, I’m going to check New Mexico off my travel bucket list when we visit Taos with my husband and two of our favorite people.

In the next few months, I’m going to focus on getting some good quality time with family and friends. Also, I am putting some focus on personal organization because I can’t seem to keep it all together currently.

Later this year, I will turn 34 and I will probably keep telling people I’m 32 and then sit there doing the math in my head because after 30, who cares?

Throughout the next year, I will be reading more, writing more, finally sharing some photos on this blog now that my computer files are organized, celebrating one of my best friends getting married and a few more having babies, watching Bravo, doing more outside, speaking up for others and exploring as much as possible.
